What data do we collect?

To create and manage your MacBreeze license, we collect your email address and a device identifier for the Mac your license is activated on. The device identifier is never stored in its original form — it’s cryptographically hashed before it reaches our servers, so we can’t reconstruct your Mac’s actual hardware ID. When MacBreeze checks its licence — when it starts, and once a day while it runs — we also record the date of that check, whether that Mac is on the free trial, the free version, or a paid licence, and which Mac it is: the model and chip, such as "MacBook Pro · M5 Pro". That model line is the same one shown in your licence’s device list, it never includes your computer’s name, and it tells us which Macs to keep testing on — a fanless MacBook Air needs different work from one with fans. We keep only the most recent check, and delete it automatically once a Mac hasn’t checked in for 90 days. Beyond that, we collect nothing about how you use MacBreeze or your Mac.

The Download button on this site passes through our server, which adds one to a running count of downloads per day and sends you on to the file. Nothing identifying is recorded — no IP address, no name, no cookie — only the number.

How do we use this data?

Your hashed device identifier is used to start your 14-day free trial and to enforce the per-license device limit (1 Mac for Pro, up to 4 for the 4-Pack) described in our FAQ, and to count how many Macs used MacBreeze in a given week or month, split into trial, free and paid, and grouped by Mac model. We only ever look at these as totals. Your email is used only to deliver your license key and support responses. We don’t share this data with any third party beyond the payment and email-delivery processors below, and we don’t use it for marketing.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your payment details directly — MacBreeze never sees or stores your card information. See Stripe’s privacy policy for details on how they handle your data.

License delivery

After purchase, your license key is emailed to you via Resend, our email delivery provider. Resend processes your email address only to deliver that message. See Resend’s privacy policy for details.

Your rights over your data

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email support@macbreeze.app and we’ll answer within 30 days. Deleting your data means removing your email address and your Macs' hashed identifiers from the licence server; your licence keys stop working at that point, on every Mac, and we can’t restore them afterwards, so it isn’t something to ask for while you still want to use a paid licence. You don’t need an account to ask, and you don’t have to give a reason. If you’re in the UK or the EU you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
